side effects of Vidaza

I was diagnosed with MDS ( Intermediate risk 2) two weeks ago. I have had one round of Vidaza. The injection site( my stomach) is red and peeling. Does anyone know of a good cream or lotion to help this next time? What side effects do most people get?

I've heard that evening primrose oil capsules, opened and rubbed on the site, helps, although I never used it...Good luck with the Vidaza! Remember, it can be VERY constipating!

Evening Primrose Oil

My hubby used it and it did help. Our onc nurse also told us that she has seen it be effective/helpful many times. I took the capsules with us and pierced and put it on immediately after the injections. Unfortunately, he did not do well with the Vidaza and had to quit after only three days.:(

My husband just finished his 8th set of Vidaza, he has used Promrose oil caps, he puts it on 3 times a day and has only peeling once, like a sunburn,...

Thank you for the info about Primrose oil. I have another question. We would like to go to Arizona for a few months, but need to find a doctor in the Scottsdale area. Mayo has docs, but they don't take medicare. Anyone have any names?:)
