MDS Rash / Body Odour

My husband has been on Watch And Wait since June. Bloods in normal range except Platelets which have been low since 2008. (66 currently).

IN the past few weeks he developed uncontrollable body odour. Armpit BO. After he showers and uses deodorant it takes about 2 hours and he is very smelly. I read that this could mean he is transforming into AML. He never used to even wear deodorant. He never had BO and he plays hockey!

A few months ago he got what we could only describe as "bug bites" all over his abdomen. And then last night he showed me this horrible welt type rash all over his thighs, groin, buttocks and lower back.

He works at the Cancer Clinic and the Doctor there told him it was just dry winter skin. It is NOT dry winter skin. I would stake my life on it.

Has anyone had symptoms like this? Am I worrying too much?

MDS RAEB II Diagnosed April 2015, but had it since 2008 according to bloodwork.

I think the itchy spots can definitely be associated with higher risk MDS. When I was higher risk I kept getting what were like insect bites in various places on my body (not limbs). They disappeared when I became low risk. There have been others on the forum who have had the same symptom. In my experience some specialists aren't aware of some of the more unusual symptoms - perhaps because they haven't had a patient complain of those yet.

Itches can also be a side effect of transfusions/infusions.

I haven't come across the body odour issue. However researchers are using smell tests to train dogs to recognise cancer now so it's possible that body odour is another symptom.
