Rabbit ATG and Lymphocytes???

I had my second round of ATG in May of this year and this time had rabbit. Unfortunately I have not responded as quickly or as well as I did to the horse ATG I had in November of 2012.

I am now on cyclosporine of 225mg per day and 5mg of prednisone every other day.

The reason for this post is to ask about other peoples lymphocytes post rabbit ATG. I was warned that my lymphocytes may take at least 6 months to recover and as I am now edging ever closer to the 6 month mark and have seen very little improvement with my lymphocytes I am interested to know whether people have seen their lymphocytes improve 6+ months post rabbit ATG.

My other counts are still pretty average, Plts hovering between 50 and 65, WBC between 1.5 and 2.2, ANC between 0.9 and 1.5, HGB around 8.9.

I have seen very little change in my counts since mid July of this year. My WBC has however fallen but I think in part this is due to the fact that I have stopped taking prednisone.

Hi TASHMAC,

From what I have read, it is pretty common to have a low ALC even 6 months after Rabbit ALG. However, they never state when the ALC starts risings again in the research reports :-/

Do you still have hemolysis and an elevated LDH? There is an upcoming live webcast from the AA&MDSIF conference in Florida on November 14th that will be focusing on PNH. Here is the link to register:

Yes still seem to be suffering from hemolysis as retic count still on the high side but hgb not improving. LDH is only slightly elevated. MCV is pretty high though.
