My dad lost his battle
My dad died June 3, 2010 after 2 1/2 years with MDS. He faught a hard fight and now he is in no pain. I hated to lose my dad but knew he wasn't living a good quality of live. He had developed congestive heart failure and it was his time. He was receiving transfusions every week. My dad was 74 years young. My brother and I were with him for his last breath. He was a great man and his memory will live on in his grandchildren, children and wife. :(

Dear Dee,
On behalf of Marrowforums, I want to offer our condolences to you and your family on the loss of your Dad. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about his passing. Quality of life is certainly something that must be considered in the treatment of a difficult disease like MDS. I hope the thought that he is no longer in pain is a comfort to you now.
