High Anti-Nuclear Antibodies
My last blood tests showed a high Anti-nuclear Antibody and my initial research suggests this could mean SLE. However, I believe it is also associated with other diseases. Does anybody have any experience with this?

You might want to have a reumatologist's advice. They can take a while to see, so make an appointment ASAP if possible. I know that lupus and Reumatoid Athritis will prooduce a level of ANA. I think other autoimmune diseases will produce ANA.

Thanks, Scott. I'm not sure why neither the Hematologist or GP has contacted me about this elevated test result, but perhaps they are waiting for me to be symptomatic, or to see next month's results before doing anything. I do know I am starting to feel nausea/heartburn at the back of my mouth and on the back of the top of my tongue. Went to our local Natural Pharmacy, Finlandia, yesterday and am taking deglycerized licorice before meals and DigestMore HCI with meals to see if that helps. I would prefer to avoid the Nexium that was given to me a couple of weeks ago if possible.

A positive ANA doesn't mean much on its own. Healthy people can have a positive ANA. Also, it's more common to see positive ANA's as we age.

Thanks, Marlene. I was curious as it was a new result.
