AA&MDSIF 2008 Patient & Family Conference

Sat July 26, 2008: AAMDSIF Nurses ConferenceThe Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation (AA&MDSIF) has announced that its 2008 Patient & Family Conference will be held in Arlington, Virginia, just across the river from Washington, DC. The Conference will mark the 25th anniversary of the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation. The Conference will begin on Sunday evening, July 27, 2008, and run through Tuesday, July 29. Hundreds of patients and their families will attend, from across the U.S. and from other countries. They will hear from leading medical experts about the latest in research and treatment, have their questions answered, share experiences, and make friends. The Conference will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott hotel: 1700 Jefferson Davis HighwayThe AA&MDSIF Third Annual Nurses Conference (title: Bone Marrow Failure Conference: Diagnostic and Treatment Issues for Nurses) will be held in the same hotel on Saturday, July 26, one day prior to the Patient & Family Conference. Wednesday, July 30, the day after the Patient & Family Conference, will be an "advocacy day" on Capitol Hill. The Foundation will organize visits with Congressional representatives during which patients and caregivers can share their concerns about issues affecting people with bone marrow failure diseases. A tip for Conference attendees
It will be very warm outdoors in Washington DC, but it's likely to be quite cool in the meeting rooms. If you want to avoid being chilly, you may want to bring along a light sweater.
