It's always interesting when a drug for one disease is found to be useful for other diseases.
They aren't sure how this JAK inhibitors (baricitinib) helps with GVHD, but the article shares one theory: that it keeps donor T cells circulating in the bloodstream and away from vital organs. |
If memory serves me correctly, Solaris, now used for PNH, was also being developed for RA but failed to treat it. It was a unexpected breakthrough for the treatment of PNH though.
