HGB level question.

Can someone explain the differences I see of peoples HGB qouted levels. I'm still learning.
I see posts of people with HGB of 70, 72, 85 etc. Others quote 7, 9, 10 etc. Mine is measured at 10.9 g/dL. Is it different in the way it's counted as in metric versus quarts or something? I don't understand, maybe someone can explain. Thanks in advance.

HGB

I Dick,
In Sweden - where I live - HGB is measured in gm/L and in many other countries in gm/dL
Kind regards

So I assume it would just be putting the decimal point in the right place, right?

HGB

Hi Dick,
Exactly! When I mail I always try to remember to change the HGB values so they correspond to the other persons reference values.
Kind regards

Hi, I wondered at first too. My GP used to say 7.2 and then my specialist would say 72. I worked out that my GP is older and still uses the old measurement system. A bit like older people in Australia talking in feet and inches instead of cms and mtrs.
