Long-term eltrombopag for bone marrow failure depletes iron (article)

https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/...1002/ajh.26543 A very interesting and useful article about the iron chelation effect of Promacta/eltrombopag. Particularly interested in this due to my mother having serious trouble tolerating Exjade but has maintained on Promacta, and has seen her ferritin levels drop. |

So happy to hear this! :) If I am not mistaken, it's just not the ferritin levels in the blood, but how much your cells absorb the iron? Promacta stops cells from absorbing iron. I deeply appreciate your posting this. Please take care. |
