Hi,
I definitely have read about increased zinc and low copper causing an MDS type syndrome. I don't wear dentures but wondered if I got excess zinc from somewhere. I also read that increased zinc can also cause neurological problems, which I also have. I have altered reflexes with numbness, parasthesia and loss of joint position. I have just recently had an MRI of brain and spine because of the increasing difficulty I'm having trying to walk. I haven't got the result of the MRI just yet but I did get a phone call from my haematologists secretary today telling she had made an appointment with a neurologist ASAP on the directions of my haematologist who has the results of the MRI. (eeeek)
I mentioned the zinc thing to my doctor when I started getting the neuro signs but as I have also had extreme B12 deficiency and this causes the same syptoms, he wasn't very open to this suggestion. I think I might have been tested for copper levels anyway but it was a tempting thought that I had something so easily treatable. (I have statred taking some oral copper just in case).
For someone computer illiterate, you've done very well.
