Hi Julie..no you are not paranoid, first keep the direct pressure on the cut, and try to elevate it. You should let your dr know and see if you do need another count done, or some other tests. It is scary to see lots of blood, but it often looks worse than it is. You want to be sure there's nothing else going on that you can't see, so contacting the dr is the way to go.
