Although it is common knowledge that fever is a response and potentially dangerous, my family has endured the damage that a fever can deliver (irreversible brain damage).

Be sure to confer with your physician as to what is the 'danger zone' and have a response plan. This could be as simple as cooling yourself with a towel soaked in ice water and taking a cold shower.

Be proactive with your health care provider improves the level of health care you receive: if you show that you care about your health then they will be more involved.
