I wonder if the infection was brewing before your Dad had the Vidaza.

I have learned that when your body is fighting infections, everything goes haywire. Some platelets work great, some don't take at all....

The main thing to remember is that the body can take a lot, and while he is in the hospital, he will be getting round the clock monitoring, which he wouldn't at home. As soon as he can eat, bring him his favorite foods or whatever he is craving. I am a big believer in keeping nourished, and sometimes hospital food just doesn't cut it!

MDS is a huge roller coaster of symptoms and emotions...hang in there, say a prayer, and keep us posted!
