Dear Ziad,
When the temp. is as high as 39C your father has an infection. The doctors can only look at the blood, urin and so on initially and then start treatment. It is common that they don't find the agent.
When they have started treatment (as they have to do) it is much more difficult to make the bacteria, virus or fungi grow in the test tubes so if tazocin isn't working they have to try something else. Fluconozol is a drug for fungi.
Hope the new antibiotic will work!
