Bone Marrow Report- Any interpretations?

Hi all,

My last biopsy report was just edited and I do not really understand it. Any explanations would be greatly appreciated.

"The karyotype is normal.

Microarray CGH revealed a 255kb duplication at 6q27 (clonal fraction 85%) This finding was confirmed by FISH (93% of interphase cells). In the setting of a recovering aplastic anemia, this finding may represent an oligoclonal repopulation rather than being strongly suggestive of a primary clonal disorder such as an MDS.

No significant genomic imbalances (losses or gains) were identified for other regions including chromosome 5, 7, 8, 20 and Y. SNP array analysis showed NO significant uniparental disomy (UPD) across the entire genome.

In summary, the clinical significance of the duplication is unclear and, most importantly, there are no changes detected that would be typically associated with an MDS."

The report originally said that there was no overt dysplasia seen and 20-30% cellularity.

I don't know if this means that I am recovering from Aplastic Anemia or something in between AA and MDS, or some kind of marrow failure due to toxins.

Thank you!

Catherine
