It seems your first biopsy only raised the possibility of MDS and the second was still not clearly indicating that diagnosis.
In my own experience I had chronic idiopathic (unknown cause) neutropenia ranging from mild to severe for 6 years before being diagnosed with MDS. Perhaps MDS will rear its ugly head eventually but in the mean time hopefully you will be able to live a normal life by just being careful to treat wounds/insect bites, sore throats, etc promptly.

Dx MDS RAEB 10% blasts + hypogammaglobulinemia, Sep 2011. Jan 2012 BMB - blasts down to 2% w/out treatment so BMT cancelled. Re-diagnosis RCMD. Watch and wait from Feb 2012. IVIg 5-weekly. New diagnosis Oct 2019 AML 23% blasts in marrow, 10% blasts in peripheral blood.
