Vidaza . . . YIKES!
OK, hubby got 3 hits of the Vidaza (subcutaneously) June 13, 14, 15 . . . wound up in emergency on Thursday (the 16th) instead of the fourth treatment and was hospitalized for a week. Just got him out of the hospital and into a skilled nursing/rehabilitation facility . . . we'll probably be a week there and then see where we pick up. So he just had three of the first seven hits of Vidaza and it totally wiped him out. He was already pretty weak and miserable because he had rushed to finish treatment for the bladder cancer so we could get started with this. We see the oncologist next Thursday . . . and hoping that will instigate release from rehab, also . . . and will figure out then what the next step is. Maybe, if he can really get his strength back good, he will be better able to withstand the Vidaza . . . don't know what the other options are, but guess we'll be finding out.
