Cyclosporine $700/month in Canada
My Mom has just been told that she will have to start forking out $700 a month for Cyclosporine. We are in Alberta Canada. Can anyone tell me if there is anything that we can do about this? Its just not fair that she has to deal with this dx and then trying to figure out how to pay for it as well. any suggestions would be much appreciated!!!!

Susanne,
Since your mom is over 65, she'll be eligible for the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP), correct? Their new prescription drug plan for seniors will become effective on July 1, 2010. Have you checked on the Alberta Rare Diseases Drug Program? I suggest contacting the Aplastic Anemia & Myelodysplasic Association of Canada (AAMAC) to ask for more specific guidance. |

Thank you!
Thanks for the information! She is calling Blue Cross right now. If that doesn't work out then I will call the AAMAC. Thank you so very much!!!!!
