Neupogen

After many years of neutropenia I've just started Neupogen injections.

I was just wondering how long I could expect a response from each injection or does it vary from person to person?

I had 300mcg on Saturday and was critically neutropenic again today (Tuesday) and needed another injection. This means that to maintain a safe range I would require Neupogen injections every second day which I'm assuming will be ongoing forever.

Does this sound like the normal dose and rate? Is there any such thing as a "normal" dose and rate?

Also wondering....while I get a little bone pain (not as much as with the copper infusions) I have gotten diarrhoea within a few hours of both injections. Is this coincidental or is this an expected side effect?

It's not a good side effect for someone trying to maintain/gain weight. I'm hoping it's just an opportunistic infection that will resolve.

Can't help with Neupogen questions Chirley, but it's great to know that you're getting some help with the neutropenia. I hope it proves to be really effective.

I've just been told the second injection hasn't worked yet, aiming for number three tonight. Hopefully there will be some improvement tomorrow.
