Low Granulocytes....
Hey everyone,
Just got back from my dad's hematologist. Dad is at the hospital getting his tranfusion. His CBC today: WBC 3.9 LY 67.2 (H) MO 14.3 (H) GR 18.5 (L) RBC 2.09 (L) Hgb 5.8 (L) Hct 18.1 (L) Plt 93. (L) His GR/Granulocytes is considerably lower than usual. Is this anything to be concerned about?

Low Granulocytes
Hi Sophia,
You know Granulocytes are a very important kind of WBCs. Among the Granulocytes are the Neutrophils. They are often about 50% of the WBCs. If they are low your dad have to be very careful and try to avoid all kinds of infections - infected people and infected food. You could google neutropenia that means low Neutrophils. Kind regards Birgitta-A |
